Every Templified term in one place. If a word in the app or in another article isn't clear, look it up here.
Core objects
| Term | Definition |
| Template | A master layout you design once — text slots, photo frames, graphics — and reuse for every customer. Templates live in the Templates tab. |
| Design | A customer's editable working copy made from a template, with their photo, name, and details filled in. Designs live in Studio. |
| Render | The finished output image produced from a design or template — the file you deliver, download, or print. |
| Folder | How you organize templates and designs. Folders can be nested; in Studio they often map to events and teams. (Distinct from a "Group" — that word is reserved for Preset Groups and Design Groups.) |
| Organization | Your studio's account — the workspace that owns your templates, designs, members, integrations, and balance. Members join an organization by invitation. |
Photos & faces
| Term | Definition |
| Frame | A photo's visible rectangle on the canvas — the area of the photo layer that shows in the design. |
| Background Removal | The processing step that cuts your subject out of a photo, removing the background so the subject sits cleanly on the template artwork. |
| Face placement (Headshot fit) | Automatic photo sizing and positioning that puts the subject's face in the same spot at the same size on every design, regardless of how each photo was shot. |
| Face-target box | The box in the editor that marks where — and how large — the subject's face should land when face placement is on. |
| Max content line | The line in the editor that sets the highest point the photo's content may reach — it keeps heads and raised arms from poking into artwork above the photo. |
| Detect face | The action that finds the subject's face in a photo automatically so face placement can position it. |
Sending & printing
| Term | Definition |
| Send / Send To | Delivering a finished render somewhere — to Dropbox, a webhook, or a connected print partner. The Send To panel is where you stage and fire sends. |
| Destination | A single delivery endpoint: one Dropbox folder, one webhook URL, or one partner service connection. |
| Preset | A named, reusable bundle of one or more destinations (like Print 8x10). Sending through a preset renders once and delivers to every destination attached to it. |
| Preset Group | A curated shortlist of presets shown at the top of the Send To panel, so day-of-event staff see only the presets that matter. |
| Print Location (Beta) | A physical print station that partner prints can be routed to, using a routing code. Configured under Settings → Print Locations. |
| Event code | The code identifying an event in a connected partner system (GFcrew/GFITpro). Partner sends require one; it can be auto-derived from a Studio folder named for the event. |
| player_id | An optional player identifier (jersey number, student ID) that API and Zapier workflows pass along to pick the right team-photo slot and tag delivered output. |
Templates & automation
| Term | Definition |
| Design Group | A set of templates rendered together as a batch from a single request — one call produces the whole set of outputs. |
| Linked Template | A labeled link from one template to another — for example, a screen design linked to its print-layout counterpart — so workflows can jump from one to the other automatically. |
| Quick Design | A template flagged for one-step contact sheets: select rendered designs in Studio and drop them into the Quick Design template's photo slots to build sheets instantly. |
| Flow (Beta) | A visual pipeline builder: drop in photos and chain steps — Remove Background, render, send — that run over the whole batch automatically. |
Billing
| Term | Definition |
| Trial | The free allowance every new organization starts with — a set number of free renders and Background Removal processes before a card is required. |
| Balance | Your organization's prepaid funds. Each render deducts from the balance; you top it up with your saved card. |
| Auto-refill | An optional setting that automatically charges your saved card to top up the balance whenever it drops below a trigger you choose. |
