Preset Groups let you focus each station's Send To panel on just the presets it needs — instead of scrolling through every preset your org has configured, operators pick a group and see only the relevant options. This article explains what a group is, how to create one, how to pick the active group on a station, and how the org-wide Default group works.
What a Preset Group is
A Preset Group is a named, curated selection of your org's presets. Groups appear as a small picker in the Destinations section of the Send To panel, just above the preset list. Switching groups instantly replaces the preset list with only the presets that belong to that group — the queue and Send all button are unaffected.
Groups are useful whenever your org has more presets than any single station needs. A shop running portrait and sports sessions in the same day might keep a "Portraits" group and a "Sports" group so each operator isn't hunting through the other's presets.
The Default group
Every org has one special group called Default. It is the fallback shown on every station that hasn't picked a different group. Only org owners and admins can change which presets belong to the Default group. All other members can see and use it, but cannot edit its membership.
When you first set up Preset Groups, add your most broadly-used presets to the Default group so stations that haven't made a deliberate choice still see useful options.
Create a custom group
Any org member can create a custom group and choose its presets. The group is then available to everyone in the org.
- Go to Settings → Send-To Presets.
- Scroll to the Preset Groups card.
- Type a name in the New group name field — for example,
Event Day— and click New (or press Enter). - The new group row expands automatically. Check the box next to each preset you want in this group.
- The group saves as you go — no separate save button is needed.
Only enabled presets with at least one destination attached appear in the list. If a preset you expect to see is missing, check that it's enabled and has a destination configured in the Presets section above.
Edit or rename a group
- Rename — click the pencil icon on any group row, type the new name, and press Enter (or click the checkmark). Press Escape to cancel.
- Change membership — expand the group by clicking its row header, then check or uncheck presets.
- Delete — click the trash icon on any custom group. The Default group cannot be deleted.
Only owners and admins can rename or change the membership of the Default group. Custom groups are open to any member.
Pick a group on a station
The active group is remembered per browser — the same machine always defaults to the group you chose last, regardless of who is logged in. This makes it easy to set up a station once and leave it.
- Open the Send To panel in Studio or in the design editor.
- In the Destinations header, click the small gear icon next to the active group name.
- A dialog titled Preset group appears, listing every group in your org. Click the one you want — it takes effect immediately and the dialog closes.
- To return to the org's Default, select the Default row.
If no custom groups have been created yet, the picker still opens but notes "No custom groups yet — create them in Settings." A link in the dialog footer goes directly to Settings → Send-To Presets to set them up.
