This tutorial takes you through the complete Templified workflow once, end to end: make a design from a template, drop in a photo, render the finished image, and deliver it. When you're done you'll have produced and delivered your first real image.
Before you start
You need at least one template in your organization. If a teammate or partner has already set up templates, you're ready. If your organization is brand new, build a simple one first in the Templates tab — see Creating and editing a template — or have one shared to you.
Step 1 — Create a design from a template
- Open the Studio tab.
- Pick (or create) a folder for this job — designs are organized into folders, typically one per event or team.
- Click Create in the folder toolbar. The New Design dialog opens.
- Choose a folder of templates, then click the template you want.
- Give the design a name — usually the customer or athlete it's for — and create it.
The design opens in the editor. Notice the lime Studio badge at the top: you're editing one customer's copy, not the master template. Anything you change here affects only this design.
Step 2 — Drop in a photo
- Drag a photo file from your computer onto the photo slot in the canvas — or select the photo layer and use the upload button in the properties panel on the right.
- The photo appears in the slot, scaled and positioned by the template's settings.
- Update any text fields (name, team, jersey number) by selecting them and typing.
Optional — remove the background: with the photo layer selected, find Photo Processing in the properties panel and click Remove BG. Templified cuts the subject out cleanly — ideal for templates with their own backgrounds. There's also an Enhance button for automatic color and exposure correction.
Your work saves automatically as you go.
Step 3 — Render and download
- Open the download/send menu (the ⋮ button) in the editor header and choose Download.
- Templified renders the design — producing the full-resolution finished image — and downloads it to your computer.
That's a complete render. It appears in your History tab and counts toward your trial or balance.
Step 4 — Send it to a destination
Downloading is fine for one-offs, but the production workflow is Send To: deliver the render directly to where it needs to go.
- Open the Send To panel — it's a tab in the editor's right panel, and also available from Studio without opening the design.
- Click a destination or preset (for example, a Dropbox folder your organization has connected) to stage the design.
- Click Send all. Templified renders the design and delivers it.
If your organization hasn't connected any destinations yet, an owner or admin can set up Dropbox under Settings → Integrations and create presets under Settings → Send-To Presets.
What you just did
Template → design → photo → render → send. Every production workflow in Templified — including batches of hundreds — is this same loop, with tools to make each step faster at volume.
