This article explains Templified's billing model in plain language: a free trial, then pay-as-you-go. No subscription, no monthly minimum — you pay per image you render. For the full details, see the billing section of this knowledge base.
Start free: the trial
Every new organization gets 25 free renders and 25 free Background Removal photo processes — no card required. The Settings → Billing page shows progress bars for both, so you always know how much trial is left.
Then pay as you go
After the trial, Templified works from a prepaid balance. Each render you produce costs 4.4¢; a render or photo that uses Background Removal adds a 10¢ surcharge. There's no subscription — quiet months cost nothing.
A few things are deliberately free: the low-resolution preview in the editor, and re-downloading a render you've already produced. You're charged when a fresh image is actually rendered, not every time you touch a design.
Adding a card and funding your balance
When you're ready to go paid, it's one step: click Add card & fund balance on the Billing page. A single Stripe checkout saves your card and adds your first funds at the same time. After that, the Add funds button tops up your balance whenever you like, and Manage card updates your payment details.
To never run dry mid-batch, turn on Auto-refill: pick a trigger amount (between $1 and $500) and a refill amount, and Templified automatically charges your saved card when the balance drops below the trigger. You can disable it at any time.
What happens when the trial runs out
When your free renders are used up, a banner appears across the app and you'll get an email prompting you to add a card. Rendering pauses until you do — nothing is deleted, and your templates and designs are untouched. Add a card and fund your balance, and you're rendering again immediately.
The same applies later if your balance hits zero with auto-refill off: renders are blocked, never silently charged to a card you didn't approve.
Keeping an eye on usage
The Billing page's Recent activity section summarizes your charges as daily usage, alongside top-ups and adjustments. The History page links straight to Billing from its header.
Billing is managed by the organization owner — other members won't see the Billing page.
