This article explains how Templified pricing works: a prepaid balance you fund up front, a small per-render charge, and no subscription. By the end you'll know exactly what you pay for and how to read your Billing page.
No subscription — you pay for what you render
Templified is pay-as-you-go. There's no monthly fee and no plan tiers. Your organization keeps a prepaid balance (in dollars), and each finished image you produce deducts a small amount from it. When you're not rendering, you're not paying.
The Billing page lives at Settings → Billing (visible to the organization owner). It shows your current balance, the per-render rate, and your recent activity.
What a render costs
Each render costs 4.4¢. If the render uses Background Removal to cut your subject out of the photo, a 10¢ surcharge is added — and only when the photo is actually processed. Re-using an already-processed photo in another render never triggers the surcharge again.
For the full breakdown of which actions are billed and which are free, see What counts as a render? (Billing FAQ).
Your free trial
Every new organization starts with a free trial: 25 renders and 25 Background Removal processes, no card required. The Billing page shows progress bars for both. When the trial runs out, a banner appears across the app prompting you to add a card — your work isn't lost, but new renders pause until you do.
Account statuses in plain terms
Your Billing page shows one of four statuses:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Trial | You're using your free renders. No card on file yet. |
| Subscribed | You have a card saved and a funded balance. Renders deduct from the balance as you go. |
| Suspended | A payment failed. Rendering is paused until you top up successfully — use the Top up button on the Billing page. |
| Billing Exempt | Your account has been marked exempt — renders and Background Removal are free and no balance is required. |
Tracking what you spend
The Recent activity section on the Billing page rolls your charges up into daily totals so heavy event days stay readable. Click Show full ledger for the line-by-line history of charges, top-ups, trial grants, refunds, and adjustments. There's also a Billing shortcut in the History page header so you can jump from render results to spend.
