This article explains what happens when your 25-render free trial runs out, how to spot the notification, and how to add a card so rendering resumes — takes about two minutes.
How you'll know the trial is used up
Templified notifies you in two ways simultaneously when your free trial reaches its limit.
The banner
An amber bar appears at the top of every page across the app. The exact message depends on which trial counter ran out first:
- "Your free render trial is used up — add a card to keep creating designs." — all 25 free renders have been used.
- "Your free background-removal trial is used up — add a card to keep processing photos." — all 25 free Background Removal jobs have been used.
- "Your free trial is fully used up — add a card to keep rendering and processing photos." — both counters have hit their limit.
The banner has an Add a card button that takes you straight to the Billing page. You can dismiss the banner with the × button; it reappears after 12 hours if you haven't added a card yet. The banner does not appear while you're already on the Billing page.
The email
At the same moment, Templified sends a one-time notification to the organization owner's email address. The subject line is either "Your Templified free render trial is used up" or "Your Templified free background-removal trial is used up", depending on which counter ran out. The email includes an Add a card link that leads directly to the Billing page.
Only the organization owner receives this email. If you're a member and you see the banner, ask your owner to add a card.
What's blocked until you add a card
While the trial is exhausted, new renders are paused. Specifically:
- Renders are blocked — producing a new image from a template or design is not available until you fund your balance.
- Background Removal processing is blocked — if your Background Removal trial is exhausted, new background-removal jobs on photos don't run.
Nothing is deleted. Your templates, designs, photos, and Studio sessions are untouched. You can still open the editor, adjust layers, and save — you just can't produce a finished render until you add credit.
Re-downloading a render you've already produced is also unaffected — existing finished images remain available.
Add a card to resume rendering
Only the organization owner can add a card. If you're not the owner, share the Billing page link with them.
- Click Add a card in the banner — or go to Settings → Billing directly.
- Click Add card & fund balance on the Billing page.
- In the dialog, enter the amount to put on your balance (minimum $5).
- Click Continue to Stripe and complete the payment. Templified never sees your card number.
One checkout does both things at once: it saves your card on file and funds your balance. After that, your account status changes from Trial to Subscribed, and rendering resumes immediately — at 4.4¢ per render, with a 10¢ surcharge for renders that use Background Removal.
Keep batches running — set up Auto-refill
Once you have a card saved, you can turn on Auto-refill from the Billing page. Auto-refill automatically charges your card when your balance drops below an amount you choose, so a busy event day never stalls mid-batch. See Auto-refill: never get blocked mid-batch for setup steps.
